Casa da Música

Casa da Música - is the home for the National Orchestra of Porto. Designed by Dutch architects Rem Koolhaas and Ellen van Loon There is no large central foyer, instead all the spaces connect around the Grand Auditorium by means of stairs and escalators. The architects on this project eacaped from the traditional "shoe box" shaped concert hall, by creating a unique exterior for the general public to see as well as creating a more flexible performance space with no fixed seating.
